Curriculum for Learning

Our curriculum is designed to be inspirational, relevant, pupil centred and progress centred. The staff and pupils of Etchingham and Bodiam Schools design the Curriculum, bringing together the passion, enthusiasm, knowledge and expertise of the communities of both schools. Parents are also involved at the planning stage.

REVEAL DAY

PUPILS engage in immersion activities and using their questioning and deductive skills they discover the title and content of the new LEARNING JOURNEY

Initial LEARNING JOURNEY based on the National Curriculum is sent to parents to discuss with their children and to answer the question ….

What do you want to find out about and how do you want to learn?

Further discussion with pupils about areas of interest, events which can enhance learning eg visits / visitors and possible alternative outcomes e.g. dance, presentations, artwork to express learning

PUPIL VOICE EDITION

OF OUR LEARNING JOURNEY IS PUBLISHED!

On our REVEAL days, pupils use their questioning and deductive skills to discover the title and focus for the new Learning Journey. Each REVEAL DAY is different! The pupils work in vertical groups and move around different workshop style and independent activities. It is always an inspiring and enjoyable experience for the school community.

Extended Learning Tasks are 3 weekly tasks, set termly (x 6 year). They are directly linked to our LEARNING JOURNEYS. All pupils share their outcomes to develop ORACY SKILLS.
